Office for the Aging announces senior community service employment program

Training provided for eligible seniors who wish to re-enter job market

Pomona, NY - The Rockland County Office for the Aging announces that it has employment and training grants from Senior Service America, Inc. and the New York State Office for the Aging to provide training for seniors who seek to re-enter the job market.

These paid-while-you-train grants target low-income seniors ages 55 and over who would like training to successfully re-enter the job market. The program fosters individual economic self-sufficiency and increases the number of older people who may enjoy the benefits of unsubsidized employment in the public and private sectors. A variety of entry-level and mid-level positions are available.
