Rockland County Human Rights
Commission Achieves Full HUD Certification
February 4, 2010 - County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef
announced that the Rockland County Human Rights Commission received
certification for an additional five-year term with full powers to
act as an Agency of the United States Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) to investigate housing discrimination claims
in Rockland County.

Rockland County Youth Bureau’s AmeriCorps program are seeking
professionals who are currently out of work for a part-time
opportunity with a new program, Rockland Employment Connections (REC).

February 1, 2010 - Rockland County’s Superintendent of Highways,
Charles “Skip” Vezzetti, has been appointed to the New York State
County Highway Superintendents Association’s Executive Committee.

Vanderhoef Calls Supreme Court’s
Dismissal of FAA Appeal “Disappointing”
January 20, 2010 - County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef called
the dismissal by United States Supreme Court’s of Rockland County’s
lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s flawed
airspace redesign plan “disappointing,” but vowed to continue the
fight through the political process.

Services Local Assistance Resource Allocation Package.

Summit Park Hospital Opens New
Acute Renal Dialysis Center
December 09, 2009 - Rockland County Executive C. Scott
Vanderhoef and Hospitals Commissioner, Richard Maloney today
announced the official opening of Summit Park Hospital’s new Acute
Renal Dialysis Unit.
New Bus Center to Open at Palisades Center
November 20, 2009 -
A
new Bus Center has been established at the Palisades Center Mall
near the southeast mall entrance facing Route 59 (near the Macy’s
first floor entrance). The facility was unveiled during a grand
opening event and buses will begin serving the new Bus Center
Saturday, November 21. The project was a joint effort between the
Rockland County Department of Public Transportation and the
Palisades Center Mall.
County Executive Unveils First
of County’s New Hybrid Electric Transit Buses
October 30, 2009 - Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef
unveiled the first low-floor, hybrid electric bus to enter the
Transport of Rockland (TOR) fleet.
